Called wall washers because they were designed to handle up to a 500 watt bulb, washing the wall with light. These would have been found in theaters, car show rooms, banks, or other large commercial spaces. This one has been painted in a color popular in the deco era. They all can be painted to your color specification, such as '57 Chevy Surf Green. Although they have a definite deco era feel to them I think they were produced later, 1940s - 1950s. Rewired with their original Mogal base socket (large screw in type used for commercial applications) we have added a reducer in the Mogal base so the socket will accept regular size light bulbs.
