Not too many globes from the 30s with blue accents, like these, come our way, especially ones this large and with this much visual interest. Classic Art Deco design, with 4 "shoulders" coming off the top ring of blue in a classic art deco waterfall design connecting to the bottom rings of blue with the vertical ribs within the waterfall matching the horizontal ribs at their ends giving the feeling the waterfalls connect to a river just below. The ribbed bottom section was designed to disperse the light outward and the designers mimicked this feature along the top with two rows of ribbing between the shoulders. The blue and the white colors were fired onto the glass making those colors still vibrant today and for decades to come. The globes are shown on vintage chrome art deco hangers of the the same era.
