It is so very fragile that few have survived in this condition with no cracks and just a couple of nicks out of the rim which are not noticed when installed. It looks like there are 5 shades ringing the fixture, as with most all other fixtures of this type, when in fact the entire shade is a single piece of thin and delicate glass. These fixtures retains their original painted finish which is in exceptional condition with almost no paint loss or fading. All glass in excellent condition with no noticeable chips and no cracks. Beardslee is one of the premier designers and manufacturers of high end Art Deco lighting fixtures of the 1920s and '30s and this is one of their best.
