With a nod to the skyscrapers of their day, these sconces have a stepped back plate like the tops of those big buildings. Popular design trend in their day.
These are in excellent condition with no noticeable chips or cracks. Shade show no signs of any damage. Bottoms of the porcelain pulls are intact as well. Often the tops of the pulls are chipped due to the spring action of the chain snapping it back up into the bottom of the fixture.
The pull chain sockets have been rebuild, not just oiled as many out there are. The switch mechanism has over 15 contact points, all of which must be taken out, cleaned, repaired, and replaced if necessary for the switching action to be smooth for the long term.
