1930s vintage schoolhouse or drug store antique lighting fixture. Two pieces of glass make up this fixture: a milk glass upper portion and a crystal glass bottom section. The bottom of the milk glass section has two slots which allow the bottom crystal glass to slide up into the milk glass section then turn to rest on the inside lip of the bottom of the milk glass.
Nice Art Deco stenciled design on 6 panels around the globe. Black painted design is in remarkably good condition with almost no loss of paint.
This is on the small side for these types of fixtures at only 9 1/2 inches in length with the vintage flush mount fitter and 8 inches in diameter.
The glass can be placed onto a chain hung or pipe if a longer drop is needed, in either polished chrome or brushed nickel.
Perfect size for a pendant drop over a vintage kitchen or bathroom sink. |
